At just 12 weeks old, Auro already had plenty of Shiba Inu personality to bring to his puppy photography session in Baldwin Park. He spent the afternoon flashing that signature Shiba grin, investigating every interesting patch of grass, and happily making friends with just about everyone he encountered.

Alyssa and Mike wanted to document Auro while he was still in that wonderfully short-lived puppy stage, so we kept the session relaxed and gave him plenty of opportunities to explore. Baldwin Park was a great setting for it, with its greenery, walking paths, and variety of backgrounds giving us room to capture both classic puppy portraits and the more spontaneous moments in between.

And with a face as expressive as Auro’s, there were a lot of those moments. Whether he was looking delighted with himself, checking out his surroundings, or simply being ridiculously cute, he seemed to have a new expression ready every time we pointed the camera his way.

Of course, exploring Orlando is hard work when you’re only 12 weeks old. Once those little puppy legs needed a break, Mike happily scooped Auro up and carried him around like the tiny prince he clearly believes himself to be. Those quieter moments with Alyssa and Mike were just as much a part of the session as Auro’s adventures, capturing the affection, laughter, and cuddles that come with welcoming a new puppy into the family.

Puppies change unbelievably fast, which is exactly why we love photographing this stage. Auro won’t stay this tiny for long, but Alyssa and Mike now have photographs of his goofy grin, curious personality, and those fleeting days when an afternoon of exploring ended with a ride in Dad’s arms.
