Locations We Love

One of the biggest advantages of working in Central Florida is the variety of beautiful outdoor spaces available for pet photography. From lakeside parks and quiet neighborhood paths to charming town centers, these locations give us room to work calmly, adapt to each pet’s comfort level, and create images that feel natural and timeless.

Favorite Outdoor Photo Locations in Central Florida

Below are some of our favorite outdoor photo locations for pet sessions. Each offers something a little different in terms of light, scenery, and overall vibe. We’re always happy to help you choose the best fit based on your pet’s personality, mobility, and energy level.

Cypress Grove Park

Cypress Grove Park is one of our most-requested locations, and for good reason. With sweeping oak trees, Spanish moss, and views of Lake Jessamine, this park offers soft, filtered light and a classic Florida feel. It’s especially lovely in the late afternoon and works beautifully for dogs who do well in quieter, open spaces. The mix of shaded paths and waterfront scenery gives us a lot of variety without needing to move far.

Newton Park

Located along the shores of Lake Apopka, Newton Park has a relaxed, natural atmosphere that’s ideal for dogs who enjoy exploring. The lakeside views, winding paths, and ancient oak trees create a simple, organic backdrop that keeps the focus on your pet. This is a great option for clients who want a less manicured look with plenty of room for movement and sniff breaks.

Celebration

Celebration offers a charming, storybook setting with colorful buildings, brick paths, wooden bridges, and lakeside promenades. It’s a wonderful choice for clients who love a polished, town-center aesthetic with lots of visual interest. We’re careful to choose quieter areas and times of day to keep sessions calm, making this location well-suited for confident dogs who enjoy strolling and taking in their surroundings.

Baldwin Park

Baldwin Park combines open green spaces, waterfront views, and neighborhood paths, giving us flexibility within a single session. The lake provides beautiful light, while nearby shaded areas help keep pets comfortable in warmer weather. This is a versatile location that works well for everything from playful pups to senior dogs who prefer a slower pace.

Laureate Park

Laureate Park is bright, modern, and clean, with wide paths, water features, and thoughtfully landscaped spaces. It’s especially popular for clients in the Lake Nona area and for pets who do best in open, predictable environments. The neutral tones and airy feel make it a great backdrop for colorful collars, leashes, and subtle styling details.

Gaston Edwards Park

In the heart of Lake Ivanhoe, Gaston Edwards Park is a peaceful spot with shaded walkways, water views, and a semi-urban feel. It’s an excellent choice for dogs who may be shy or easily overstimulated, as well as for senior or cherished companion sessions. The natural surroundings and gentle light help create calm, intimate portraits.

Choosing the Right Location

Every pet is different. When you book a session, we’ll talk through your pet’s needs, energy level, and any mobility or comfort considerations to help select the best location and time of day. If none of these feel quite right, we’re always happy to suggest alternatives or discuss a custom location closer to home.

If you’d like help deciding which park is the best fit, just ask. We know these locations well and are glad to guide you.

In-Home Sessions: When Home Is the Best Location

A woman and her Portuguese water dog enjoy their backyard during an in-home pet photo session in Orlando, Florida.

While Central Florida has many beautiful outdoor locations, home is often the very best place for a photo session, especially for senior pets or animals with mobility, health, or anxiety concerns.

An in-home session allows your pet to stay in a familiar, comfortable environment where they can relax, move at their own pace, and be themselves. For older dogs, cats, or pets with medical needs, this can make a meaningful difference. There’s no travel, no unfamiliar smells, and no pressure to perform. Just a calm, unrushed experience centered entirely on them.

Homes also tell a deeper story. Favorite windows, well-worn couches, sunny spots on the floor, and quiet moments with their people often become the images families treasure most. These sessions are especially well-suited for Cherished Companion Sessions, where the focus is on honoring the bond you share and preserving it in an honest, gentle way.

If you’re unsure whether an outdoor location or an in-home session is the right choice, we’re always happy to talk it through. The goal is never to force a setting, but to choose the one where your pet feels safest and most comfortable.

Location & Session FAQs

Are permits required to photograph in parks?

Some parks do require photography permits, particularly in Winter Park and surrounding municipalities. However, all of our favorite locations listed above do not require permits.

If a permit is required for your chosen location, we’ll let you know upfront and handle the logistics whenever possible. Permit fees and related administrative costs are not included in session pricing and will be added separately.

How far in advance do permit-required locations need to be planned?

Permit timelines vary, but we recommend a few weeks of advance notice. If you’re working with a specific date or planning a Cherished Companion or senior session, we recommend starting the conversation as early as possible so we can guide you to the smoothest option.

Can we use a location that isn’t listed on this page?

Absolutely. These are simply our most frequently used favorites. If you have a special place in mind, or want to explore a new area closer to home, we’re happy to discuss it and confirm whether it’s a good fit for your session.
