Some dogs are happiest right where they are, and for Banjo, home is where his whole heart lives. We spent a cozy afternoon in Winter Park photographing this handsome 1-1/2-year-old Portuguese Water Dog with his mom, Selavi, and he couldn’t have been sweeter.

Banjo greeted us with a mix of shyness and curiosity, taking a moment to warm up before letting his playful side peek through. Once he did, though, the charm was nonstop. He showed us his garden with all the pride of a little boy showing off his favorite place, trotting ahead with bright eyes and a wag that made Selavi smile every time.

We also loved capturing the moments that show his personality best—those goofy little spins he does when he’s excited to go outside, his clumsy but endearing movements, and the expressive looks that seem to say everything without a single sound.
