Some dogs walk into your life and change it forever. Wizard, a 10-year-old apricot Goldendoodle, did exactly that for his parents, Jen and Cory. Loyal, sweet, and endlessly curious, he was the heart of their little pack, and the soul of this Cherished Companion Session at Gaston Edwards Park.
Wizard always loved the simple joys: the breeze across the water, the scent of a new path, a friendly hello, and the promise of a “paw-sage” (his favorite). Even through chemo treatments and the extra care that shaped his days, that spark in him remained unmistakable.
At the park, every ripple on the lake, every blade of grass, every shift in the wind caught his attention. You could see it in his eyes – that familiar joy and intelligence that Jen and Cory love so much.
Jen and Cory wanted this session to capture their connection as a family, especially the moments that reflect their everyday life with Wizard. Quiet affection. Soft touches. That proud, slightly goofy smile that only appeared when he was with his people.
Wizard leaned into their hands for head scratches. He lifted his paw for his beloved massages. He gave kisses. And every time his tail went up and started to wag, they lit up right along with him. You could feel the love between the three of them.
These images honor Wizard’s spirit – his courage, his sweetness, and the life he lived wrapped in love.
He may no longer be here, but his spirit lives on in the love he shared and the memories Jen and Cory will carry forever. We’re honored to have played a small part in preserving that legacy.
