Some dogs just radiate personality — and Piper, a 10-year-old long-haired dachshund mix, brought every ounce of her charm to her photo session in Lake Nona, FL.
Her mom, Taya, told us all about her big doxie energy before our shoot: the cuddles (cradled like a baby!), the adorable spins, and that signature side-eye. Piper’s favorite toy? A Barbie skate. Her favorite activities? Sunbathing, sniffing, rolling in the grass, and letting out her signature “baby dragon noises” when playfully gnawing at hands.
Despite some nerves about an upcoming mastectomy, Taya booked this session hoping to capture Piper’s joy and spirit — just in case things didn’t go as planned. Thankfully, we’re thrilled to report that Piper’s surgery went beautifully, and she’s made a full recovery!
Throughout our session, Piper gave us everything: sweet snuggles, playful pounces, and those soulful dachshund eyes that say so much without a word. She reminded us exactly why we do what we do — to preserve these fleeting, wonderful quirks that make our pets so loved.
One of the most magical parts of the session? Taya’s Harry Potter-themed room — a perfect backdrop for a little extra personality. Piper donned her Hogwarts best (complete with a wand and tiny tee) and totally embraced her inner wizard. We’re not saying she’s ready for her own spin-off, but “Piper and the Magical Side-Eye” has a nice ring to it.
