I read a few days ago that six of the Vicktory dogs (those rescued from Vick’s dog fighting operation) just celebrated five years of freedom. It’s hard to believe that anyone could treat a dog the way they were treated, but just today I heard about five dogs confiscated from a local fighting ring. It doesn’t seem to stop.
As a volunteer at my local animal shelter, probably at least 75% of the dogs I see are classified as “pit bull mix.” This vague designation, often quite untrue, dissuades a lot of potential adopters. Ignorance, or lack of education if I’m being nice, is one of the biggest obstacles bully breeds face, along with widespread BSL and discrimination.
Today’s illustration conveys what I believe is 100% true of bully breeds. I hope you enjoy it.
